Harvest

September 18-0007
Now at the last of the season, pepper marmalade from the peppers and salsa from the tomatoes.
Both are very good, the salsa with vegetables, meat and with just crackers. This came in handy when Katrina came and you couldn't cook.
The peppers are made with the red, orange and yellow peppers and a cup full of the butternut squash. I used four cups of peppers with about four jalapenos peppers and one cup of butternut squash. I used one sugar free sure jell with four cups splenda. It is not hot but not being use to the jalapeno peppers and I did not wont the seed in it, well I will add more next time to get it hot, I do like it a little spicy. This is also good with the veggies and meat or just crackers.

Jeremiah 5- 24 says, Let us now fear the Lord our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.

Sculpturd

September 15 0007
Today in my part of the country it is a beautiful day and half of the month is gone. My where does the time go?
This is a sculpture of an Old World Santa made from polymer clay, after I sculpted the head and hands I would bake it in the oven. Then I made a body and stuffed it with cotton batting. It took quiet a while but was a lots fun.
I have several of them some sitting and some are standing. I really did enjoy sculpting and making the cloths for them until my hands got so stiff until it became too hard for me to finish them like I wonted. He is about 17 inches high.
Isaiah 26: 3 says, " Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee."

Trweasure Chest

September 7-- 007 About 5 or 6 years ago my friend Bro
Joe retired from the First Baptist
Church in Collins, he moved about 3 miles out from Collins in the country, on the Salem Church Road. It is about 3 or 4 miles below me, then with his other Churches that he ministered to he began doing some bird houses and ask me to paint them for him so I ask him to make me a chest like this one. I painted him one, from that we kept that going for about 5 or 6 years , now he is very sick and has lost his wife. I haven't heard from him for quiet a while, but I will find out tomorrow in Church for I am real anxious to hear about him. So this gives me a chance to show off his work and his loving care to every one, I think he gave all away to friends. I am so glad that I could call him my friend.

Proverbs 15-13 " Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friend".

African Violet

September 3 007

My, my this year is flying by, it has been so hot until you can't get out of the house so I have a hobby going and they are so beautiful. I can't complain about staying in the house though for there is bloom every where. African violets are about the easiest flower to grow that I have, I just put a job stick and water in the bottom and set back and watch them bloom. I have found the best place to put them is over my sink in the kitchen and they will stand almost straight up. This window is good to but some times I will swap around. If I just had more room.

Matthew 6: 28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

Magnolia

Today September 2-007

This is the flower from the magnolia tree, I did not paint it, it came from one of the trees in my yard. This flower is the state flower of Mississippi. Has large, long, green leaves to frame the flower. The large soft like petals remind you of velvet, overlapping with a large, round, orange stem in the center. It will have from seven to nine or more petals, like this one. When the sunlight hits the leaves in the afternoon they looks like glass. You can find them all over the woods and up and down the highways in Mississippi. A beautiful tree and all artist in this state has either painted one or tried.

Jer 17: 8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.fruit.

Grapes

September 1--007
This is a little art work of mine, a tag of grapes done in watercolor. My grapes are ripe and gone, there wasn't very many this year but were real sweet. Most of the time I make juice and my friend made some jelly from the juice I extracted from them last year. A Delicious flavor, and my grapes are purple.
My sister and I use to find the wild ones in the woods and would gather them and eat them or my mother would make jelly from them.
In Deuteronomy 5:16 it says to Honor your father and thy mother, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the Lord thy God give thee.
We made good use of our land and enjoyed it.
In Proverbs 23-7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he: As my father would tell us that we are the architect of our own being. I think of that very often. So if you think of something your mother or father said when you were young, hold on to it may be of valuer to you.
